We\u2019re excited to give you a peek into life at\u00a0Sunnyside<\/strong>! Each day, our amazing teachers capture all the fun, learning, and special moments happening in our classroom through class journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thought it would be great to share these with you\u2014so you can see all the wonderful things we\u2019re up to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using bubble wrap, yarn, shapes, and textured papers, the children created collages. In the afternoon, we used these collages as the base for printmaking. First, I demonstrated how to use a baren (a printmaking tool) to rub the paper and transfer the ink. Each child chose their favorite color of ink, and enjoyed printing their designs on a paper.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

We started the morning by making our very own Rainbow Fish! The children used recycled CDs and decorated them with sequins to form the body of the fish. This art activity was inspired by the story we read together yesterday, and the children were very proud of their sparkly creations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

After lunch, we had our Passe Math class making a calendar for July. We went through a flip book learning about the different fins and colouring them, then made a fish and stuck it onto the calendar.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

In the afternoon before our Passe Class, we did a journal entry what we want to do this weekend. Each friend had their own idea and wrote on their sheet. We had to edit our mistakes and try to rewrite it to be correct the second time. We also drew pictures at the back.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
