\ud83c\udf1e Hello everyone!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re excited to give you a peek into life at Sunnyside<\/strong>! Each day, our amazing teachers capture all the fun, learning, and special moments happening in our classroom through class journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thought it would be great to share these with you\u2014so you can see all the wonderful things we’re up to!<\/p>\n\n\n

In the afternoon, we went shopping at the supermarket, \u201cShokuhin-kan Aoba\u201d, for the first time! Although it is very close from school, it was a big adventure for us! The children worked together to carry the shopping basket and bought bitter melon, zucchini, and cucumber.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

In the afternoon, we had a painting activity focused on the colors of autumn. The children explored warm, earthy tones and expressed themselves creatively through their artwork. Everyone had a great time, as painting is one of their favorite activities!<\/p>\n\n\n

After lunch, we had a STEM activity. We separated into three teams and had three minutes to build the most stable structure we could using various materials. We then had another three minutes added small dinosaurs to the structures to see which team had built the strongest structure capable of holding the most dinosaurs. We repeated it a few times, with everybody learning and building better structures each time. We then talked about what we had learned about how to build stable structures.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

In the afternoon, we spent some time practicing the numbers 11-20 backwards and forwards, and also learning some digraphs (letter blends) as these are becomng more common in reading books.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, we painted an Autumn tree using our hands instead of paint brushes. It was a great chance for the children to work as a group on one artwork and experience some sensory activity.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
