Hello everyone! Welcome back to Sunnyside stories. This time, we will share some class anecdotes that our teachers share in the parent-teacher journals. These are learning activities that happened in the first week of December!
In the afternoon, we did two activities. The first was continuing the Christmas tree craft we started yesterday, and the second was open-ended play with wooden blocks. To end the day, we had Storytime and read ‘Inside, Outside, Upside Down’ and ‘Tap the Magic Tree’.
We worked on our Christmas tree in the afternoon, which was made of stacked boxes. Everyone loved painting and just took their time and enjoyed it. We also decorated the used CDs with pompoms, assorted sequins, and buttons. We plan to stick them on the boxes, and they will serve as ornaments. We will continue to add more decorations to our tree in the coming days.
After lunch, we glued our collective leaves onto paper to make the art, selecting different colours and sizes. We then ran it through the laminator to compress and seal it, and everybody enjoyed watching it come out the other side.
We spent the afternoon completing our reading books and playing Monopoly together. We also exchanged our ‘Secret Santa’ cards we made this week and everyone was excited to receive a card, made only for them.
That’s all for today’s Sunnyside Stories!
