Hello all! We hope this month has been going well for you. This month, we are having a lot of Halloween themed activity since it is coming up real soon. We would like to share with you anecdotes of our parent-teacher journals so you can feel like you are part of our community.
After our usual Circle Time, we moved on to Phonics. We sang the ABC song, reviewed last week’s letter O, and then introduced this week’s letter P. We talked about the sound P makes and words that start with P (popcorn, pencil, pig, pumpkin, parrot, peas, popsicle). When I said, “P, p, Papa!” everyone was so excited, and when I asked, “Who likes Papa?” they all enthusiastically raised their hands, shouting, “ME!” Afterward, we worked on a worksheet and went outside to play.
We also started our “blow monster process art”. The children seemed to have enjoyed it. We used paints, and they chose 4 colors and had to use the dropper to put them on the paper, and once they already had all the colors that they needed, using the straw they had to blow and mix the colors into the paper.
After our snack, we learned more about the ocean and the types of creatures that live in it. Then we had various activities exploring this, like making stamp art, classifying different types of sea creatures, and examining seashells.
In the afternoon we had Passe Math class with our visiting teacher. We created an October calendar. It was a combination of cutting, glueing, drawing, grating and smudging pastel.
Our next info session (入園説明会) is set on November 9 (Saturday) / 11月9日(土).
Please read more details about it here on this page: Enrollment Page.
