Reading Journals
The Reading Journals will make it easier for students to understand what writing a book review means, and they will also show them how they can write a good book review one step at a time.
In each term, students are expected to read at least 10 books and write 10 book reviews. To encourage students to read more, students may borrow up to 2 books per week from the library. Aside from that, students are rewarded with a gift when they reach specific checkpoints.
Speech Contest
J PREP Explorers will hold a Speech Contest once every year. There will be a preliminary round at the end of Term C to select a representative from each class to be a finalist for the event.
Students will work on creating their own speeches and apply the presentation skills they learned in class. As guardians of finalists are invited to the Speech Contest, this is a great opportunity to witness first-hand the hard work students have put into delivering a memorable presentation.
